It was like a dream.
One early Saturday morning last month, I woke in the darkness and headed out to spend the morning at one of my most favourite places. Outside, it was cold, dark — and the first snowflakes of the season were falling from the black sky.
Inside, however, it was warm. As soon as I walked through the doors I was welcomed with a literal breath of fresh air — and took a huge inhale of intoxicating, balmy air. Exhale.
This November, I had the absolute pleasure of co-hosting Exhale: A Mindful Morning of Yoga at the Assiniboine Park Conservatory with Shift Yoga. The vision? A juicy, slow flow practice, in a warm, inviting green space — an intentional experience perfectly suited for what can be a dark and gloomy time of year.
After students each found their own little practice space among the plant life, Amanda and I took turns guiding the group through breathwork and movement, and offering feel-good assists with the help of nourishing essential oils. Following practice, we spent some more time under the canopy and enjoyed snacks and a beautiful tea blend by Rasa Holistic.
I can only speak for myself — but I went home with exactly what I needed.
All of my gratitude to those that came out to breathe together, move together, and share this enchanting space with us on a crispy winter morning. Creating this experience was truly a dream come true. Thank you.
