Try this: Simple spring simmer with spruce and lemon

Spring is most definitely on its way — and it's at this time of year when I mentally take note of all of the -winter things- that I failed to get around to this year (e.g. find that elusive, perfect knit sweater, cross country ski every weekend in said sweater, etc.). The list goes on.

But after having spent a good portion of an afternoon relaxing in a hammock this past weekend, I've moved on from winter. To prove it, I traded the cinnamon and cloves for a a fresh take on the stovetop simmer.

No need to run around town to get what you need here. You'll need:

- a lemon or two, sliced
- a few cuttings of white spruce
- 5 cups water

Simply add water to cover ingredients and bring to a simmer on the stovetop. Enjoy.

Bonus points will be awarded to those who brew tea with any leftover liquid. For real — that's one potion that will be super high in vitamin C.
